Kenny and Megan Elwood -  Changing people's views on goat meat

Kenny and Megan Elwood, a husband and wife team are ranchers raising cattle and goats on their ranch that has been in family since 1862. Together, they’ve developed a specialty product, Kenny’s Killer Goat Jerky, which introduces goat meat in a form that is easily accepted by consumers. 

 Goat jerky is an unique product that is naturally lean, high in protein and iron. They currently have over 250 goats on their 850 acre ranch located in Bella Vista California. In 2010, Megan began raising and showing Boer goats, as well as selling them to the local 4-H and FFA kids.

In 2015, they decided to start marketing goat meat to consumers and felt jerky would be the best way to introduce goat meat to the masses. This is when Kenny’s Killer Goat Jerky was born. They currently sell their products online at and at different trade shows, but are planning on expanding into retail outlets in the near future.

They offer four flavors of goat jerky sticks – Honey Pepper, Pepper, Teriyaki, and Fire Hot; as well as four flavors of thick cut jerky – Garlic, Zesty, Teriyaki, and Pepper. Megan and Kenny belong to the AGF, American Goat Federation and encourage others that are involved in the goat industry to join.
